On 19 May, NYMEX crude futures for June rose by $0.62/bbl to $59.65/bbl. Brent crude futures for July increased by $0.45/bbl to $58.92/bbl. OPEC issued basket of values for crude oil on 18 May at $55.86/bbl, down by $0.51/bbl from 15 May.

On 19 May, Asian PX prices fell by $3/ton to $1,085/ton FOB South Korea. European PX dropped by $10/ton to $1,015/ton FOB Rdam.

PTA and MEG further increased, but offers were few. Buyers showed more buying interest. (12 Jun)

PFY further ticked up by 50-200 yuan/ton in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, especially POY, which witnessed dramatic increase. (12 Jun)

Some offers raised offers for PSF 1.4D in Jiangsu and Zhejiang on improved sales. (12 Jun)

3-D-crimpled re-PSF was bearish in Nantong on muted sales and so some producers began turnarounds on units. (12 Jun)

Semi-dull PET chips continued to rebound in Jiangsu and Zhejiang under support from upstream and downstream sectors. Offers were complex with mainstream prices between 7,900-7,950 yuan/ton (cash, D/A) and some producers placed offers above 8,000 yuan/ton due to tight supplies. (12 Jun)

On 19 May, Asian benzene values went up by $38 to $630-635/ton FOB Korea, while European benzene market moved up by $34/ton to $740/ton FOB Rdam.

USD-based CPL moved up due to higher feedstock costs. RMB-based nylon chip values also ticked up slightly. (12 Jun)

Nylon filament values were raised slightly on cost pressure, while other nylon products were quiet due to low demand. (12 Jun)

ACN market was soft and traders' offers were stable, while delivered prices were lower. (12 Jun)

Most players held wait-and-see stance in acrylic fiber market and trading atmosphere coole down. Mainstream prices were stable. (12 Jun)

Domestic mainstream sentiment was stable. Most suppliers enjoyed stable export demand, but prices were stable amid current slash season. (12 Jun)

VSF market prices were stable with modest sales. Sales for downstream spun rayon yarn were just modest. (12 Jun)

PP fiber was stable and prices ranged bound with passable downstream demand. (16 Mar)

PTA Futures Contract TA0909 opened at 6,800. Current highest price reached 6,842 and lowest one was at 6,800. (9:00-9:30am, 12 Jun)

PTA Futures Contract TA0909 gained 48 points on the day, closing at 6,828 and settling at 6,846. Traded volume totaled 590,104 contracts, with open interest decreasing 9,450 contracts to 226,016 contracts. (15:00-15:30, 12 Jun)

Trading of PP resin improved due to sharp increase for crude prices and offers buoyed on more inquiries. PP fiber ranged bound and most players held wait-and-see stance. (12 Jun)
